The Glitch

Kai was debugging his game when the screen flickered. Not the normal kind of flicker — the pixels rearranged themselves into words he hadn't written: HELP US.
He pushed his glasses up his nose and leaned closer. The message dissolved, replaced by a doorway made of pure code — green characters cascading like a waterfall.
Kai knew he should probably close the laptop. Instead, he reached out and touched the screen. His fingers went right through.
